Security, prospects and problems of open source software became the key topics of the dialogue session "Open source: Security Version, Development Vector - Trusted Environment" at Interpolitex-2021. The moderator is Valentin Makarov, president of RUSSOFT.
Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO noted that Russian "residence" of software companies guarantees safety of products based on Open Source: "Software developed by domestic vendors will not stop working in case of foreign companies sanctions policy. It means that the software will be stably updated, and users will be provided with timely technical support. Besides, security is strengthened by the requirements of FSTEC of Russia. Now the agency checks not only the product itself, but also the process of its development".
The experts also discussed at the dialogue session the role of the state support for open source software, its use in commercial structures and government bodies and other aspects of security of products based on the open source code.
